Dear Customer,

My name is Uraiwan and I'm originally from Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. I call my shop Lanna Thai Market because the old Northern Thai Kingdom was called Lanna. I have been living in the UK for the last 14 years, and moved to St Austell four years ago.

I enjoy cooking Thai food and found it difficult to get hold of authentic ingredients locally. I decided to open my own shop in February 2007 for everyone who enjoys cooking Thai and Asian food and can't find specialist ingredients (such as shrimp paste, fresh galanga, fresh lemongrass, fresh holy basil, etc) here in Cornwall.

Lanna Thai Market stocks a wide range of Thai Cooking Ingredients to allow you to recreate your favourite Thai dishes, including fresh herbs and spices, curry pastes, sauces and utencils.

We stock a popular selection of foods from Japan (Sushi ingredients including Wasabi Paste!), Philippines, Malaysia, India, Singapore and China. We also stock a wide range of dried herbs and spices including black mustard seeds, whole cardamon seeds, curry leaves, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, and lots more.

Also in Trinity Street you will find Lanna Thai Take Away. We offer restaurant quality food for you to enjoy at home. All orders are freshly cooked; no dishes are prepared in advance and then reheated or microwaved. Please see the Take Away page for further deatils.
